Description
Beatles UK - Rubber Soul – 4 / 1 Mono mix.
PMC 1267 Mono - Original 1965 Yellow & Black Parlophone Label.
A UK album in 100% original condition, featuring the more unusual 4 / 1 vinyl matrix featuring the ‘Loud’ Mono mix on side Two.
Little is known of these 4 / 1 mono matrix records that feature the ‘LOUD’ mono mix on side Two of the vinyl.
This brilliant LP released in late 1965 was first released as the 1 /1 matrix, now referred to as the ‘LOUD’ cut. The storey apparently goes of the these 1 / 1 matrix records was that The Beatles record Producer George Martin was not happy with the sound mix, so it was replaced with the later 4/ 4 mono matrix. But somewhere in between a very small number of these 4 / 1 matrix mono records were produced !, maybe the EMI engineers thought that the 1 / 1 mono mix was superior and came up with their own compromise, this RARE 4 / 1 version. It didnt last however as the much more familiar 4 / 4 mono matrix became the ‘standard’ mono mix for most of 1966.
CONDITION:
MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is very good+ and all the text is clear to read. The sleeve has very good sharp corners to it, the rear of the sleeve has ‘Tri flipbacks’. A nice touch to this record is what appears to be the original price sticker, saying ‘ 32 / ’. This is a very strong sleeve that has seen very little handling, the spine and the flipbacks are all very strong. There are NO tears, Pen writing. There is a small area of laminate loss to the bottom flipback on the rear.
INNER SLEEVE: is in very good+ condition, it is the original Emitex sleeve, it is very clean and white in colour for its age. There are NO tears, Pen writing or stains. The sleeve has an odd detail on, the line of text that reads ‘ Made in England’ appears on the left side of the sleeve, this text is usually on the right side !, also this text has been printed ‘up side down’ !?.
VINYL: side One is in excellent condition and side Two is in very good++ condition, the vinyl is of the original thick, heavy vinyl, it is dark and has a high gloss. The matrix nos. are: XEX 579 - 4 and XEX 580 - 1 ‘LOUD cut’. The Mother / Stampers are: ‘ 7 - G O D ’ ! and ‘ G 3 G – L R ’.
THE AUDIO: is very good, the record plays well and lays flat on the turntable and does NOT stick or jump. There is some crackle to be heard, but I feel that as the playing surface is so good, the record would benefit from a professional clean, then I’m sure the audio would match the condition of the playing surface.
THE LABELS: are in very good+ condition, there is a ‘KT’ embossed onto side One. There is NO Pen writing or stickers on them.

Unfortunately as you will see from my feedback, I have received One negative feedback recently. This is due to the fact that I followed Ebay policy and reported an Ebay member for non payment and in turn I have received this feedback !, while this Ebay member carries on trading unaffected !, I am disgusted that Ebay has let this happen !

To fairly grade the condition of the record, I am using the official grading system from the Record Collector Magazine.
Grading System
The seven standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are listed below:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
+ or – : indicates a grading in between categories.
