Description
Beatles exports and the Red Album Years, signed by the author.
Stop! This listing is aimed at overseas buyers. This listing takes into account a hefty fee imposed by ebay for international sales. To offset this, this price is a little higher than for buying in the U.K. with domestic fees. However, I receive less than if I sell both books to buyers in the U.K.
Important - viewing the sample pages with the magnifying glass icon is causing them to blur.
This is my third book detailing The Beatles' UK records. My first two volumes were published by Apcor and received 5 star reviews in the Record Collector magazine.
This is part of my ongoing work documenting The Beatles' UK record releases. This research began during lockdown and is planned to include at least five volumes. So, this is not a thrown together book, but thoroughly researched over many years.
Review from Beatles collecting forum: Guys, “our” Admiral has done it again! I got his two books today and they are a gorgeous read. The book on export pressing has been researched tremendously well and contains a lot of information on “false” export pressings, label variants, foreign pressings with UK sleeves etc.
The Red Album years has great pictures and I hadn’t seen most of the newspaper and magazine articles before.
Terrific jobs, Admiral!
All arrived safely. Thank you. The book is nicely bound and good paper stock.(Mark, eBay)

In this volume covering 220 A4 pages, presented in hardback on 130gsm sewn spine pages, The Beatles' records manufactured in the U.K. for export are explored in detail. All label variants are shown on all available formats. The entire DP series of singles exports is explored, so too are the CPCS series of LPs. Whilst values fluctuate, some guidance is given on the rarity of the discs shown.
In addition, as some copies were exported, the Let It Be box set and Get Back book are fully explored, throwing up some surprising rarities!
Buyers of this book will be armed with the knowledge to out fox dealers! They will try to convince you that they have a Decca export LP. All these exports and contract pressings are explored, and myths debunked! If you are a dealer, this volume will give an idea if the record you wish to sell is common or hens teeth variety.
Please see my other book here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/127845278688
Also included are worldwide releases which look like U.K. exports or use the export numbers. You will also discover which LPs were sold around the globe in sleeves made in the U.K. and exported.
From the writer of the acclaimed books "Made In The UK" Beatles Singles and EP editions. My first two books were given five star reviews by Record collector and rated "essential."
Hi everyone, I'm very pleased to announce a new publication.
My new book is called "The Beatles The Red Album Years (1962-1966)." The book is divided into three sections which includes many original news clippings and commentary, offering new insights into the period. I have had a deep dive into archive material and found things I never knew, despite being a Beatles fan for 60yrs. There is a concise discography of all 7" & 12" releases pressed during the period (this includes all labels and contract pressings, but omits mispressings and typo's etc). The last part offers a selected gallery of worldwide sleeves.
This is ideal for collectors and newbies. If you collect Beatles' records, this book shows every label variation from the period and is based of years of my research. This would be an ideal gift for the Beatles fan in your life!
The book is A4 size, has 200pages, printed on high quality photo finish 130 GSM paper. The book is not specifically limited. However, it is privately funded and will not be available on the high street (there is no ISBN number). Copies will be signed/dedicated.
Each copy weighs just under 1KG.
