Summary:
ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING STEREO’s for the Early Beatles 1963 UK Parlophone album WITH THE BEATLES; with ‘JOBETE’ publishing credit for the song ‘MONEY’, and ‘YOU REALLY GOTTA HOLD ON ME’ on the record label and track listing to the reverse of the sleeve are RARELY SEEN, and we are delighted to offer this RARITY to collectors in TOP condition.
Album Description/Condition:
The HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd’ label rim, ‘Recording First Published 1963’ and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ to both labels. Track 3, Side 2 is listed as ‘You Really GOTTA Hold on Me’, on the record label and the reverse of the sleeve, instead of ‘You Really Got A Hold on Me’ on all subsequent examples. Additionally on track 7, side 2 lists ‘JOBETE’ publishing credit for the track ‘MONEY’.
Both sides of the record labels are in SUPERB near mint condition. This is a OUTSTANDING set of record labels, with no more than just a few faint centre spider trails. The Silver printed text is UNFADED and the Yellow Parlophone Print and logo CLEAR and VIVID.
Side 1 matrix YEX 110-2 and Side 2: YEX 111-2.
Side 1 stampers: 1/R and Side 2: 3/GO.
There is a embossed tax/price code stamped to the centre of the side 2 record label.
Both sides of the Heavyweight vinyl disc are in STRONG excellent plus condition. EXCEPTIONALLY Deep Glossy, UNWORN vinyl surfaces, with no more than a few light surface hairlines, which do not affect the sound quality.
Play Quality:
The album plays SUPERBLY through ALL the tracks. A CLEAR, POWERFUL Early STEREO Sound, with NO skips or clicks.
The album comes in an ORIGINAL Polylined ‘Use Emitex….’ Printed Inner Bag which is in excellent condition, NO tearing or handwriting, just a little inevitable light creasing and mild age toning.
……And is housed in an ORIGINAL, LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse, three flip back sleeve printed with a large ‘stereo’ type face to the top right hand corner of the front of the sleeve.
The sleeve is in VERY NICE excellent plus condition. This is a FIRM, SOLID sleeve. The front panel laminate is ULTRA GLOSSY, with only mild record indentation, and minimal bruising to the bottom right hand corner. There is a small half an inch rub mark to the middle of the bottom edge of the sleeve. The back panel is BRIGHT, STRONG and CLEAN, with mild age toning to the opening edge. All three flip backs are UNDAMAGED. The spine edge is UNDAMAGED and the wording ‘With The Beatles’ clearly legible.
STEREO versions of this EARLY Beatles UK FIRST PRESSING album in the IMPRESSIVE condition of this one have become INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO FIND. It was only the VERY FIRST PRESSINGS that included the ‘JOBETE’ Publishing Credit and ‘GOTTA’ references – A RARE UK Original Beatles album – hard to comprehend that it is in its 47th year of release!
