PARLOGRAM AUCTIONS presents...
THE BEATLES - 'WHITE ALBUM'
This unusual and early 1st UK mono pressing dates from initial November 1968 release on the Apple Records label: PMC 7067/8
All labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text but omit the 'An EMI Recording' wording.
Matrices: XEX 709-1,710-1 & XEX 711-1,712-1
Stamper codes: 4/GH, 2,8/RG & 1/R, 2/R
Vinyl weights: 136g & 141g
Housed in a fully laminated, top-opening 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold cover with raised front panel wording but without a number.
It is possible that this cover was for display purposes only, which may account for the pinholes in the lower corners.
We have not erased the number, nor is there any trace of an impression of one - even under magnification.
Complete with original matt-black, die-cut inners.
Lacking poster & photos.
CONDITION
Disc 1: VERY GOODA nice sounding disc which bears some light surface marks and a small scratch at the beginning of side 2 which causes a jump on 'Martha My Dear'.
Disc 2: VERY GOOD +
Clean & glossy with a single light fingernail scuff on side 1 but no scratches or any other issues. All tracks play fine and without fault.
As you can see, there is significant discolouration throughout with pinhole damage to the lower corners and a small tear to the upper left. There is some staining in the centre of the gatefold but all seams are unstressed. The spine is worn but unsplit.
Inner-sleeves: GOOD
One seam split and general creasing to each.
