THE BEATLES - 'WHITE ALBUM'

1968 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING No. 0024639

**OUTSTANDING, EARLY 100% COMPLETE COPY**

This beautiful, early copy has received just some careful, light play on top quality equipment and has been carefully stored in a clean, smoke-free environment.

Both discs were among the first to be produced and carry the very first '1' mother stampers on all sides.

Both discs are on the dark green Apple label: PMC 7067 & PMC 7068
All labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text but omit the 'An EMI Recording' statement.
The 'KT' tax/price code on the side 1 label confirms this copy as one of the earliest pressed.

Housed in a fully laminated, thick card, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' mono cover, numbered: No. 0024639
Complete with original die-cut matt-black inners, matt UK 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed poster, four 'thick' card colour photos & white paper photo spacer/protector.

CONDITION

Disc 1

Labels: EXCELLENT PLUS

There are some small spindle marks on both labels, but no other signs of wear.
The line near the centre hole on side 2 was made during manufacture and is not a pen mark.

Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS

Both surfaces are remarkably clean and bright & retain their 'as new' deep gloss shines with no dulling or groove-whitening to either side.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals some unavoidable, light inner-sleeve removal marks but no scratches or other major marks or wear.

Audio: NEAR MINT

Having listened carefullly at volume, I am pleased to report that all tracks play superbly & 'as new'.
There is absolutely no trace of background noise, groovewear or any other audible wear on any track or in either channel.
Frequently worn areas such as the fadeout on 'Dear Prudence' play perfectly without any background crackle.
Even the guitar solo on 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' is free from peakwear distortion or break-up.
The easily damaged introduction to 'Martha My Dear' and the deilcate 'Blackbird' & 'Julia' all play perfectly.
There are no ticks, clicks or any other signs of audible intereference.

Disc 2

Labels: EXCELLENT PLUS

Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS

As with the first disc, this have received just a few careful plays. Both surfaces are amazingly bright & clean, retaining their deep 'as new' gloss shines.
Apart from some faint inner-sleeve removal marks directly beneath a halogen desk lamp, there are no scratches or any further significant wear anywhere.

Audio: NEAR MINT

Again, I detected no trace of any crackle, peak/groovewear distortion anywhere on any track.
Even the easily worn inner tracks on each side: 'Long, Long Long' & 'Goodnight' play perfectly without any distortion or break up.
Happily again, there are no clicks, ticks or any other interference throughout either side.

Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS

A really top-class, clean & unyellowed 'thick' card example which bears appears as if it was bought yesterday and bears no significant signs of wear whatsoever.
The laminate is undamaged and retains its high-gloss finish all-round. A tiny 2cm light scuff on the rear panel stops a 'NEAR MINT' grade.

All corners are clean & square with just some light shelfwear visible to lower right corners.
All the top-opening edges are clean, sharp & unworn with no marks, tears or indentations.
The inside is in pristine and 'as new'. It has clearly not been opened in many years and I have not attempted to open it fully.

The spine is is clean & unbent with just a 2cm section of split laminate midway down, but the text is covered & readable.
At some point 11 little 'thunderflies' have managed to get under the spine's laminate, but they appear not to have cause any lasting damage.
