1968 UK 1st *STEREO* DOUBLE LP
On dark green Apple labels: PCS 7067 & PCS 7068
The 'Sold in UK..' & 'An EMI Recording' texts is present on all labels.
There is no tax/price code visible on any label.
Housed in a thick card top-opening, 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed gatefold numbered: No. 0569872 with no stereo logo on the reverse!
Complete with die-cut matt black inners & UK printed poster & 4 'thick' card photos.
Matrix numbers: YEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-2 & 712-2
Stampers: 1/MR, 6/GOL & 1/GOA, 1/GRG
Disc weights: 1.158g 2.149g

Discs
Labels: Disc 1: EXCELLENT Disc 2: EXCELLENT +
Some spindle marks to disc 1's centre hole but none on disc 2.
Visual:
Disc 1: EXCELLENT
Both sides of this disc are extremely clean, bright & glossy with no dulling or clouding to either side. There are just a few light inner-sleeve removal marks when viewed in strong daylight but no other significant marks or wear even beneath my halogen desk lamp.
Disc 2: EXCELLENT +
This disc appears totally unmarked & 'as new' in strong daylight with just a few inevitable but barely visible inner-sleeve removal marks on side 4. However, there are no scratches or any further signs of wear anywhere to be seen.
Both discs lie 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio:
Disc 1: EXCELLENT +
This disc has received some careful, frequent play but my careful play-check found no evidence or groovewear, background noise, clicks or any significant or major audible wear.
Disc 2: NEAR MINT
This disc has been barely, if ever played and sounds 'as new' throughout with no discernable audible faults or wear.
Cover
EXCELLENT -
An very clean & high-gloss example which still retains a good 'whiteness' and a clean laminate. There front has a few small 'thumbnails' but is otherwise unworn with a fully intact laminate around the raised 'The Beatles' wording. the number is slightly worn but still legible. There is slight wear to the upper opening edges but all corners are clean with no heavy bumps or bruises The inside of the gatefold is unblemished, as is the rear panel. The spine laminate has some splitting but all the text on both ends is undamaged and is readable.
Photos: EXCELLENT +
Clean, flat and uncreased with just some small age-spots to the white borders.
Poster: VERY GOOD
Some moderate handling wear and a few small stains but un-hung with no tears or holes anywhere.
Inners: VERY GOOD
Both are clean & flat but one has some small tears to upper edge but no other major faults to either.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & halogen light based upon UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I play every record I sell at volume on high-end audio equipment and list all visual and audible faults.
- Unless stated, all records lie 100% flat & play without distortion, jumps or sticks. All sleeves/covers have no writing, splits or tears.
