This rare variant STEREO 'crossover' pressing dates from 1969 and is on the dark green Apple label: PCS 7067 & PCS 7068

The 'Sold in the UK..' statement appears on the side label 4 ONLY.

The 'An EMI Recording' text is present on all labels.

Both discs are housed in a fully laminated, inner-flipback, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover individually numbered: No. 0454727 with the small 'stereo' logo in the upper right corner of the rear panel

All four colour portrait photos have been printed in reverse and are the mirror image of how they should be.

The set is complete with a UK poster printed on glossy paper & both matt-black, die-cut inner-sleeves.

CONDITION

Disc 1

Labels: VERY GOOD +

Both are clean & bright with numerous spindle marks & slight wear to each centre hole, but no major faults.

Visual: VERY GOOD

Clean & glossy playing surfaces which bear just one noticeable surface mark on side 1 & a few stylus hairlines, but nothing deep or feelable. Inspection beneath halogen light reveals numerous wispy paper-type hairlines consistent with frequent play.

Play: VERY GOOD

Despite being played many times, all tracks on this first disc play without any major deterioration to the sound quality. My play-check an occasional light click together with some minor playwear on some loud peaks but no jumps, repeats or other such problems.

Disc 2

Labels: VERY GOOD +

Again, clean & bright with slightly less spindle marks than disc 1.

Visual: VERY GOOD

As with disc 1, both surfaces are bright & clean with a handful of light scratches on either side and numerous paper-type hairlines directly beneath halogen light but again, nothing deep or feelable.

Play: VERY GOOD +

Played slightly less than disc 1 and subsequently with less audible faults or wear. I heard a few light ticks on 'Mother Nature's Son' and 'Helter Skelter' along with a hint o playwear to the latter, but no other significant audible faults.

Cover

EXCELLENT -

A firm and heavy example from thick card stock which retains an good 'whiteness' all-round with no significant or major blemishes inside or out. The front panel is perfectly clean & glossy with no indentations or marks and with a bold, unworn individual number. The rear panel has a few small indentations and a small bend to its lower left corner but the small 'stereo' logo is clear & intact. There is slight wear to the front top-opening edge but the none to the back leaf. The corners are in excellent shape with just a small bruise to the rear lower left but no heavy heavy bruises to the others. The inside of the gatefold is completely unworn & unmarked. The spine is clean & straight with all the lettering present & readable. There is some splitting to the laminate but there is no dirt or discolouration. All seams are unstressed, unsplit & fully intact.

Poster

GOOD

General handling wear and faint marks to the corners suggesting it has been hung at some point. There is a small hole in one of the corner folds but no large tears or missing sections.

Photos

MINT

All are 'as new'.

For illustration purposes, I have photographed this misprinted set above a set of regular photos, which incidentally are not part of this item.

Inner-sleeves

VERY GOOD

Clean & flat with general handling wear & small seam splits to one but both centre holes are intact & undamaged.
