Discs
Labels: All EXCELLENT +
Visual: Disc 1 EXCELLENT Disc 2 EXCELLENT +
Both discs are extremely bright & clean and all sides retain their deep gloss finishes. An occaisional light hairline scratch is visible on disc 1, but disc 2 is pristine with only a few faint inner sleeve removal hairlines under halogen light. There are no significant scratches or any major faults to any surface.
Audio: Disc 1 EXCELLENT - Disc 2 EXCELLENT +
Carefully and certainly not overplayed, the sound is clean & clear throughout with no background crackle or groovewear on any track. Apart from some light background during quieter passages on side 1 & a few light clicks on 'Julia' there are no major audible faults on the first disc.
All tracks on disc 2 also play superbly without any background noise or groovewear distortion whatsoever - there is even no trace of crackle on the delicate 'Mother Nature's Son' or the easily worn final chord of 'Long, Long, Long'. There are no clicks, pops or any other audible wear to either side.
A highly respectable set which showcases the original mono mix at its best.
Cover:
EXCELLENT -
A thick, heavy card example which is retains a good 'whiteness' with a clean & high-gloss front laminate bearing just a single 'thumbnail' crease to the front & back panels but no significant or major wear. There is minor bruising to the lower corners, but the top-opening edges are clean & unworn. Inside is clean & unworn and despite some missing laminate, all the spine text is clear & readable.
Inserts:
Photos: EXCELLENT +
Poster: VERY GOOD
Inners: EXCELLENT -. No seam splits
