FIRST ‘1G’ STAMPERS, WITH SOLD IN UK LABEL TEXT, PRINTED STATEMENT MISSING FROM BOTTOM FLIPBACK
This album was issued as the Soundtrack album for the cartoon film ‘Yellow Submarine’although it did not include some of the tracks that were featured in the film. Yellow Submarine spent just two weeks at the No 3 position. At the same time The Beatles White Album was still at No 1.
Album Description and Condition:
SCARCE FIRST ISSUE on the traditional Green Apple Label wth ‘Sold in UK….’ label text, ‘Apple Records’ label rim, with ‘Mfd in UK’ label text.
Both record labels are in SUPERB near mint condition. A FINE set of UNDAMAGED record labels, beautiful clear print, and no more than one faint centre spider trail to both labels.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in excellent condition, CLEAN, BRIGHT Vinyl Surfaces, with just a few light surface scratches. Please note there is a small scratch on track 2, side 2 which produces a light click for approximately 25 seconds of the track.
Side 1 matrix: YEX 715-3 and Side 2 YEX 716-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1/G and Side 2: 3/MP.
The album plays EXTREMELY WELL throughout, with only mild background crackle but no skips or clicks.
The album comes in a Plain white inner bag which is in CLEAN excellent condition, there are NO seam splits or tears, just light creasing and handling marks.
The Vinyl LP is housed in an ORIGINAL, GLOSSY, Front LAMINATED Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve, with two Horizontal RED lines either side of the sleeve notes. The printed statement reading ‘Printed and made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd’ together with the Patent Number are absent from the bottom right hand flip back.
The sleeve is in excellent minus condition. The sleeve is CLEAN and FIRM with no edge splitting, has an UNDAMAGED spine. The three flip backs on the reverse are UNDAMAGED. All that is visible is some light handling marks and some record indentation, mostly to the front, and there are small corner bumps to each corner and a light crease to the top right hand corner . All three flipbacks are UNDAMAGED. The spine edge too is UNDAMAGED and the wording to the spine edge is CLEARLY printed ‘The Beatles Yellow Submarine’.
Overall a VERY RESPECTABLE example of this SCARCE, ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE.
