RARE AND COLLECTABLE BEATLES YELLOW SUBMARINE VINYL LP PMC 7070 XEX.716 & XEX.7I5
Mono 1969. Red Lines on the reverse.
I’m not an expert on grading records but will give an honest description of how I see this.
Vinyl retains a nice glossy black finish. There are a few light hairlines and wisps (some I think are from pulling the vinyl from the sleeve) but considering age I’d say extremely good condition.
I’ve listened to both sides on a high end turntable and there are no skips, ticks or loud pops. The last two tracks on side one have some sibilance but I’m imagining this is more to do with the original recording than anything else.
Some light surface noise, crackle and static which is only really noticeable in between tracks and on the very quiet pieces. A deep clean may improve this considerably. Some of my brand new records have this and when you consider the age it’s perfectly normal.
Centre labels are clean with very minimal signs of wear around the spindle hole.
The tonearm rides at a constant height while playing and there are no significant undulations.
The cover is showing its age a bit although I'd say is pretty good for this vintage. Some browning around the white edges, more so on the reverse. A little softness on the corners with a light crease top left hand corner. The crease is not severe though and not really visible from the rear, only on the front glossy part.There are no splits or holes and the fold over seams are very tight.
Inner black sleeve is quite good. No splits and the seams are ok. There is a circular impression from the edge of the record as it rests within the sleeve and general handling marks consistant with age.
According to some of the grading systems I’ve read I’d say the vinyl is VG+ and the cover is good.
Obviously everyone has different appraisals but this is mine. I sell alot of vintage stuff/collectables and a quick check of my feedback shows I get it right most of the time.
