Description
Beatles "Yesterday and Today" Mono, Partial Peel BUTCHER COVER, 1966 pressing
Absolutely one of the most notorious and sought after records, period. This compilation was released by Capitol to catch up the US market to a handful of singles that hadn't been included on their respective albums. The cover caused enough uproar for this to be pulled nearly immediately. Rather than destroy existing stock while a reprint could be made, Capitol decided to paste a new cover on top of the "pop art". Someone decided to attempt to peel off the artwork revealing the rare original issue cover below. Obviously, I haven't attempted to finish the job. I actually think it's kind of cool as you can see both iterations on one. This is a must-have for the Beatles LP collector or record collector in general. In any kind of condition these are quite rare. Comes with original inner sleeve.
Vinyl is a clean VG+ and sounds great. Cover would grade as Rough. Besides the tears on the front, cover is fully split at the seam, and part of the cardboard on the back edges are missing.
** Used / opened LPs DO NOT come with download codes (if applicable).
