20th century collectables is pleased to offer this genuine UK 1st issue MINT audiophile copy of ‘Beatles For Sale’ in its original 1st issue dark gatefold sleeve. Pressed and manufactured prior to the 4th December 1964 release date.
As many collectors now appreciate, an audio grading of vinyl is now as important as the visual grading. This trend is set to continue with many experts and collectors believing that the audio grading will in fact become the ‘de facto’ way to judge and grade vinyl records. Here is an ultimate sounding copy which will not disappoint.
Happy Bidding and good luck!

Audio:
MINT
Quite easily the finest sounding ‘Beatles For Sale’ copy I have ever heard. The sound quality is factory fresh and there is no surface noise audible to any of the music. There are no pops or ticks and all gaps are silent. This is a high grade audiophile copy which will not disappoint and will not need to be upgraded. An absolute stunning listening experience and testimony to the quality of these early UK first pressings.
Visual:
EXC+/MINT-
The vinyl still retains its factory sheen and has a shop freshness about it. It is clear that it has only been removed from its sleeve a few times since new. There are no major marks, scuffs or scratches to the vinyl. Side one has an ultra-faint non sounding whispy hairline which is only marginally visible in very strong daylight. Side two has 2 very light ultra-faint non sounding surface marks which do not effect play. I would hazard a guess and say the vinyl has only been played 3 to 5 times on good quality equipment in its 47 years history. The heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels:
EXC+/MINT-
A fresh set of labels with no writing. One or two faint spindle trails. Side one carries the KT tax code.
Cover
EXC+/MINT-
A tough cover to find in anything above VG+. This cover however is very close to mint and is a beautiful example. The front panel is in stunning MINT- condition with no marks or thumbnail creases and still retains its high gloss laminate. It has a very tiny bruise to the bottom right corner but there is nothing else to fault the front panel. The back panel is equally as pristine with only 2 small faint laminate creases along the bottom edge which were made in manufacture. The spine is uncrushed and shows only minimal signs of wear towards the tapered edges. There is no writing to any part of the sleeve. A fine example of this genuine 1964 1st issue UK sleeve with the heavier and darker image; later sleeves were paler and are now unfortunately being used by sellers to replace worn and damaged 1st issue covers. This however is positively a 1st issue UK cover from the initial release date of 4th December 1964.
Inner-sleeve Exc.+
Clean & correct with just a touch of light storage creasing.
