The ultimate collectors copy, in fabulous condition, complete with Auction House catalogue, receipt and mailing envelope
It is unlikely that you will ever find another example, of this single, with such outstanding vinyl surfaces and unmarked labels
With the high value now associated with Beatles demo discs, there is always the possibility of being offered a fake copy on-line, particularly as this release was the first issue not to use the earliest JR or 1G stampers normally found on pre-release singles
Please bear in mind, that unlike a commercial copy, usually played to death, this copy has seen minimal play, on professional equipment and is in remarkable condition
Bought at auction in 1990, this comes with the auction house receipt and photograph from the catalogue, as well as the mailing envelope, sent to the buyer

The Vinyl
Visually: Looks like a new copy, hardly touched - beautiful example, with gleaming deep gloss mirror like surfaces - side one appears near pristine - side two has just one light, non sounding, surface/handling line - usual hairlines under bright light
Audio: Needless to say, this copy, having been played on top equipment, produces a near mint performance - stone cold silent run ins/outs - sound quality is undiminished throughout both sides - you won't be disappointed

The Labels
Super clean - unmarked - no writing or damage - vibrant text - just a few light spindle trails - release date, 15/03/68 - KT tax code embossed, side 2 - demo labels display the additional 45 to indicate playing speed *
The Sleeve
Original, company issue - near perfect

The Phillips Auction House catalogue features over 800 lots and is just fascinating to browse through. The cover photo shows a leather jacket worn by Michael Jackson for the song 'Bad'and is valued at £20,000 - £30,000 for the auction 25 years ago, wow! - Loads of Beatles memorabilia including this demonstration single which was part of a large collection being sold by BBC Radio 1 DJ, Chris Denning (Details on Wikipedia, although you may regret reading about him). As you can see, the catalogue photo matches the position of the label on the disc, leaving no doubt that this is the genuine item.
