When EMI switched from the old style 'Parlophone' label to it's modern 'Yellow Parlophone' in 1963, the first label carried no publishing date and included a small 33 1/3rd, in error. The second attempt removed this small running speed but still omitted the date Here is a wonderful example of the first 'correct' edition, as it was intended to be, with a disc in truly outstanding condition, as well as a rare 'Gold' cover
*
The Vinyl
Visually: Beautiful, deep gloss surfaces with no signs of groove wear - both sides are near pristine with nothing more than a few very light handling marks - this disc has been treated with care
Audio: As you would expect from the condition of the vinyl, playback is sublime - all tracks play through with just a touch of peak wear on some of the top notes (nothing much) - hard to find a better original copy
*
The Labels
Vibrant yellow parlophones - fabulous, unfaded silver text - no writing or damage - inevitable spindle trails
*
The Cover
Original E J Day - made from very thick card - Mr Bean right in the corner and displaying perfect text - this example is in remarkable condition for an original EJD cover, notorious for crumbling flip backs, these have remained largely intact - overall age related wear and tear but still a very sturdy item - small split in the top corner where the flip back is wrinkled but not too obvious - spine text is perfect - no writing or sticker residue
*
Inner Sleeve
Original, made from thicker paper and with a clear polythene liner - 'patents applied for' - as close to perfect as you could expect
