As a true 1st issue, this is the only label variant of this album that carries the incorrect publishing credits for tracks (1, 2, side 1) and (4, 6, side 2) as Dick James Music, later corrected to Northern Songs

Audio from this disc is superb, with minimal surface static through the run-ins and no loud crackle usually present on early copies played on the wrong equipment. From its first play it has only ever been on a stereo turntable. The songs burst from the speakers with the power, richness and warmth only possible through this brilliant stereo mix
Originally bought by a lady in her teens, living and working in London, this disc has been played and enjoyed, as you would expect. It does display numerous surface lines and a few scuffs but these have little bearing on the overall performance
The disc sits perfectly flat on the turntable and plays from start to finish with no skips or stalls and just the odd light pop/tick, occasionally, through tracks 3/4 on side 2

The 'Gold' labels are in lovely condition with all text perfectly legible and only display the usual collection of spindle trails
Side 1 centre is embossed with the tax code MZT

The 'Gold' E J Day cover, made from heavy card, is in very good condition, with the McBean lettering fully intact
The back panel is free from writing but the flipbacks do have some missing laminate (a common fault on EJD covers)

The original, 'patents applied for', Emitex polythene lined inner sleeve, made from thick paper stock, is near perfect except for age browning
