As The Beatles's musical Director and Producer, George Martin's contributions to many Beatles songs and his instrumental accompaniments to Beatles’ LPs are beyond measure and too numerous to list here. Martin’s extensive musical training and sophisticated guidance in the studio are often credited as fundamental contributions reflected in the refined and "finished products" of The Beatles’ recordings. The Beatles were definitely fortunate beyond measure to have had Sir George Martin as their Musical Director and Guide to aid them in refining and enhancing their recordings.

On these records, you'll hear from who Scott Muni refers to as The Beatles' "Recording Mastermind", the late Sir George Martin.

• This is TTR-115 and was produced by DIR Broadcasting, a Lorimar Telepictures Company, for broadcast April 10,1987.

• It is a TWO-LP (3-sided) Set intended ONLY for Radio Broadcast. It was NOT available for purchase by the public.

• The labels have the printing:

• This set of 2 records was sent ONLY to radio stations that were authorized to broadcast Scott Muni’s “Ticket to Ride – A Weekly Tribute To The Beatles” syndicated radio program.

• Scott Muni was a DJ who, during his career, worked at a number of radio stations in prominent markets and became popular in the AM Top 40 market. He was also one of a few DJs who covered The Beatles on their first visits to the U.S. and began a long association with them.

• Mr. Muni was close to John Lennon and his family. In fact, After John’s murder he vowed to always open his show with a Lennon or Beatles record, a pledge he kept for the rest of his broadcasting career, often playing a “Beatles Block”. I read that the DJs at Q104.3 have kept Muni’s promise to New York listeners and still start their noon hour with the “12 o’clock Beatles Block”.

• The VINYL (ALL SIDES) is NEAR MINT. (There is just a little bit of light "ticking" on the first few revolutions at the beginning of Side A and Side B in the "dead air" space, but his quickly disappears as the speaking/music commences.

• The vinyl comes in black generic die-cut sleeves that are used and have some creases and worn areas

• The TWO CUE SHEETS ARE INCLUDED, which list the contents of the show, its order and durations and commercials and their durations.

• Side 1 and Side 2 consist of the interview interspersed with Beatles tunes.

• Some of the content of the interview includes:

*What was George Martin's job at Parlophone

*What happened on June 6, 1962 that changed his life?

*How he thought the Beatles felt about him

*His impressions of the Beatles' break-up

*Why he considered the Beatles "anarchic" in their recording technics and why "production requires the elimination of a lot of material"

*He tells the story about getting together with Paul on the production of the "Tug Of War" LP and "Give My Regards to Broad Street" film with different arrangements for Beatles'tunes.

• Side 3 is "This Week in Beatles History"where Scott goes back in time and identifes significant events that occurred and/or songs that debuted in the lives of the Beatles and plays Beatles (or solo) tunes associated with those events.

Sir George Martin has passed on, but his legacy lives on in virtually every Beatles LP we listen to.
