The Beatles/The LP Roll-Top Box/Capitol-Parlophone BOX 1 (91302) All LPs inside this roll-top box are STILL SEALED! (I grade tough and almost never use near mint or mint, so take a look!). When the C1 series Beatles releases came out in 1988, there were some deluxe editions in roll top boxes. This is the one for the LPs. It comes in the original shipper outer cardboard box. The photos at right show the outer box label and the address panel to the Strawberries record store in Burlington, Vermont. You can see from the picture that Strawberries was retailing this set in 1988 for $179 and change. The outer box is in good shape but looks rather industrial with some tape, writing, etc. (Note that I will ship this item in another box to protect the original shipper box from damage in shipping) The wooden box holding the LPs is black lacquer over an oak wood veneer, with a slatted roll-top and custom handle labelled The Beatles in gold. This handle is for the roll top, and the roll top works very smoothly. This box is in generally excellent shape, except for the bottom back left corner, which has gotten dinged. From the outside, the back corner looks partially chipped away. It doesn't show much in a display situation as it is the back lower corner. (Note that in the photo provided, it looks like the top, but I have the box upside down to better show the damage... it IS the bottom!) The view from underneath shows the damage behind the chip. It is the mark of a significant blow, whether in shipping or what, I don't know, but the good news is, it is largely concealed. The top, sides and bottom of the box are in excellent shape, as this item has been kept in the original cardboard mailer since it was originally purchased. All the LPs inside, 14 titles, 16 records, are still FACTORY SEALED. This was a numbered edition, and the number on the bottom of this box (again, see photos to the right) is 2931. I believe the LP roll top was limited to 5,000 copies, but I'm not absolutely sure. The following LPs are included in this set:
