Description
Fantastic original first pressing of this much-sought-after LP of the cream of late 1950s jazz superstars featuring Art Taylor, Frank Foster, Charlie Rouse, Walter Davis, and Sam Jones. Purple and silver DG labels. Back cover has Bergenfield, NJ address.
This LP would be EX/NM- except for a single tiny hole (from being remaindered at one time?) that goes through cover through to label, which has no effect on the vinyl itself or the integrity of the cover. That’s the only reason it’s being listed as VG+
$400 OBO.
Vinyl: VG+. Vinyl is glossy with beautiful sheen. Sounds VG++/EX with Van Gelder production shining clearly throughout. Labels are clean and clear except for tiny hole, as mentioned above. See photos for details.
Cover: VG+. Cover retains original bright gloss finish with some foxing toward top. Back cover is clear and clean. Spine is immaculate. Seams are tight all around except for two-inch seam split on top edge. Otherwise, cover is structurally sound and solidly intact. This cover would be NM- except for tiny hole, as mentioned above. LP will come in protective Mobile Fidelity archive-quality sleeve. Cover will come in thick vinyl protective sleeve.
