The Bee Gees   "Golden Album : Best Of Bee Gees"

This is a Taiwan Import on SB0-1003-1-7.   This box set is from the early 70's.   The records are pressed on black vinyl and they are in stereo.    This box set contains seven complete albums by The Bee Gees.     It has a unique front cover.   The back cover lists all of the songs on every album.    The box is hinged and it opens to the left.      Inside the box the records are in clear plastic inner sleeves and there is a corrugated sheet underneath.      The original price was $350.00 in Taiwan dollars.    Taiwan box sets like this are extremely hard to find in nice condition and with all the right records.

Volume One : Trafalgar.

Volume Two : Original Soundtrack from "Melody".

Volume Three : Massachusetts ( which is the same songs as 'Best Of Bee Gees' ).

Volume Four :  2 Years On.

Volume Five :  Bee Gees 1st.

Volume Six : Rare Precious & Beautiful Vol. 2.

Volume Seven :  Idea.

What are Taiwan Imports and why should you buy one??    Taiwan imports are copies of US albums that were pressed without obeying copyright laws.     They were pressed by small companies in Taiwan ( or Formosa ), in extremely limited numbers ( between 100 and 200 ).    It was illegal to export them out of the country, so the only way they got out was from US servicemen who bought them there and then brought them back when they returned from overseas duty.    Then they had to be sold to a used record store and then resold to a collector.     There are many cover and label variations to watch for.    Sometimes they are pressed on colored vinyl.     Most of the time the front covers are poor quality copies.     Many back covers are different or will have the lyrics printed, some with errors and typos.     Sometimes there are album slicks from other albums inside the covers.     The US record company logo is gone and a Chinese record company and record number are in it's place.   All of their labels are unique with lots of Chinese character writing.    The covers are made of paper which is sealed in very thin plastic, inside and outside.    They are pressed on poor quality vinyl which plays with some static.    They never note the country name on the cover or on the labels.

THIS IS AN EXTREMELY HEAVY BOX SET.       I will package it so that it can not be crushed and it will weight 3 pounds, 14 ounces.    A winner from the USA could get it by Media mail very cheaply.    If you wanted it by Priority Mail it would be expensive.    A winner from Canada or anywhere overseas would have to pay for International First Class and it would be VERY expensive.

Overall Condition : Box : VG /  Records : VG+

The box is VG.    There is no writing and there is no ring wear.    There are no breaks, cracks, or splits in the box.     The back cover slick is slightly wrinkled and there is edge tears around the left and bottom edges.  The vinyls all look VG+ and they all play VG+, with light static between the songs.    The labels are clean with no spindle marks.    

I will package this box set between two pieces of oversized 1/2 inch thick cardboard.   I will have side supports so that it can't get crushed.     It will weigh 62 ounces ( 3 pounds, 14 ounce ) when ready to ship.   You can figure out your own shipping costs for US Priority or Media Mail.    It will be sent by First Class Mail International to overseas buyers.      I will send it as soon as you pay ( same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM).      This record is from a no smoking and no pets home.
