Never Played! This is an absolute MINT CONDITION Limited Edition Set. As stated on included Certificate, "Special limited edition, individually numbered, of the new recording of Ludwig van Beethoven's Nine Symphonies with Herbert von Karajan conducting the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Recorded in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall for the Beethoven Year 1977. 500 copies of this edition were prepared especially for canada. This copy bears the number 43." This Certificate is then personally signed by the great Herbert von Karajan himself in bold blue Sharpie. The clear plastic jacket that protects this incredible collection is also signed by Karajan. The jacket proudly displays the mark of Deutsche Grammophon. The only imperfection in the entire collection is a small tear in the plastic jacket on the bottom right side, and a small piece missing on top left side. Neither are visible when jacket is viewed front-on. Included in this impressive collection are the following items: Genunine Leather bound case (beige) with Satin lining (also beige.) The Certificate of Authenticity, printed on heavy stock Museum Grade Acid Free paper. A 12" x 24" poster in pristine condition of the Maestro in deep contemplation. A Commemorative book (soft cover) with photo documentation by Siegfried Lauterwasser, Uberlingen. Book contains many full-color, full page (12" x 12") prints of Beethoven, as well as vivid reproductions of some of Beethoven's original sheet music. Book also shows many pictures of Karajan and various members of the Berlin Philharmonic. Book has 40 pages in total. Book is in immaculate condition. There is also a special record titled Karajan in Conversation, Herbert von Karajan talks to Richard Osborne about his new recording of the Nine Beethoven Symphonies. (Written on opposite side of jacket for this special conversation record is the following in German, "Das Interview, Herbert von Karajan im Gesprach mit Joachim Kaiser uber seine Neuaufnahme der Neun Symphonien von Ludwig van Beethoven.") And last but certainly not least are the eight pristine albums of Beethoven's Nine Symphonies. None of these albums have ever been played or even taken out of their respective dust jackets. They are in spectacular condition. This remarkable Limited Edition collection is extremely rare, especially with an edition number this low (43/ 500.)
