Description
Very rare disc. This is Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra performing Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 "Eroica" - on the Urania Records label URLP-7095. This is the rare withdrawn first pressing. Has the "AB" stamped on both sides in the dead wax. Heavy deep groove disc actually retains some decent gloss - labels are clean with numerous spindle marks - lots of play. Would call this disc G as it actually sounds ok on the turntable - has the snap, crackle and occasional pop that you would expect of a G disc. However, it did have some light skip during the first 1/2" or so of Side 1 due to a deeper scratch. Not horrible but it did skip a couple times as it went through that section. Given that, I'll call it a filler / poor copy. Jacket is pretty clean on the surfaces - does have corner and edge wear and seam splits at top and bottom opening edge. Still, a very rare disc and it's by no means a trashed copy. See pics. Enjoy!
