Beethoven Symphony 8 Klemperer Original Aust Columbia SAXO 2318

Otto Klemperer conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra in this famous performance of the Beethoven “Symphonies no’s 1 and 8”. An original Australian stereo pressing on the Columbia Label (SAXO 2318), the labels are blue with silver “radio waves” and border, and black stereophonic flash and this is a pancake pressing. Side one’s label has a “sample record” sticker. The record is of excellent appearance, and plays and sounds superb with occasional surface noise. The cover laminate has rubbed with other minor wear.

This review record is a part of a collection that originally was either played a few times for review purposes, (or not at all) and stored carefully and unplayed over the following 40 years. View my other auctions for more superb early classical records.
