Beethoven Symphony 9 Klemperer UK Columbia SAX 2276/2277 Blue and Silver Magic Notes 2 LPs
Aase Loveberg, Christa Ludwig, Waldemar Kmentt and Hans Hotter with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Chorus conducted by Otto Klemperer perform the “Symphony No. 9” by Beethoven. A two record set, this is an original English stereo pressing on the Columbia Label (SAX 2276 /7). The labels are light blue/green with black lettering, silver “radio waves” and border, note logo and Made in Gt. Britain at 6 o’clock. The records have some minor scuffs – mainly on side two that also has a couple of clicks, and are of otherwise very good appearance, and play and sound superb, with some low-level surface noise. The covers laminate has rubbed with a few small creases and there are a couple of tape stains on the back.
