With the Howards Printers Ltd matt Gatefold Sleeve in VG+ Condition, the Vertigo inner sleeve is in VG+ Condition & the Record is in VG+ Condition, With great tracks from Beggars Opera including; 'Poet and Peasant & Light Cavalry', With the original large Vertigo Spiral labels, the 1Y//1 2Y//1 Matrices & 1-1-4 1-1-3 Stampers of the 1st Pressings. Description
Original UK Vertigo spiral label stereo press LP.Beggars Opera were a rock band from Glasgow, formed in 1969 by guitarist Ricky Gardiner & vocalist Martin Griffiths and signed by Vertigo in 1970. Act One is their first album released in December 1970 and includes many elements of symphonic & progressive rock, including a number references to classical music (e.g. Poet and Peasant and Light Cavalry by Franz von Suppe & Grieg's Peer Gynt).
This is the original issue with the large Vertigo spiral label, the earliest 1Y//1 2Y//1 matrices and the 1-1-4 1-1-3 stampers of the first pressings!
The Howards Printers matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in VG+ condition, with some storage rubbing and some corner/edge wear on the outer cover, the inner cover has some light storage rubbing. The rear cover has two sticker scars that have been carefully repaired. The spine is intact, slightly worn and still readable, the spiral inner is intact and in VG+ condition. The record is in visually VG+ condition, with quite a few faint hairlines and a couple of light needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a few spindle markings. The sound reproduction is EX, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, hiss or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves and in a couple of the quieter passages. Overal,l it plays really well and is a great listen. The matrix nos. are; 6360018, 1Y//1-420 stamper 1-1-4, 2Y//1-420 stamper 1-1-3. This is one of the very early copies of the 1st press of the original 1970 UK stereo issue of this album!

All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!! UK Signed For Postage is £4.50 for the first LP & is the same for up to four single LP's or two double LP's or more up to 2kg.
