Description
Here is a very rare find I picked up at an estate sale. Apparently the original owner of this recording, Dr. Lewis Bevis Schneider, saw the actual concert of this with the composer conducting the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra with the Huddersfield Choral Society. This is evidenced by the included program from the 12/10/49 concert. He even left his business card.
So we have not only this rare recording but also the program from a concert that featured the artist and musicians from the album along with the business card of the owner.
The cover is in decent shape considering its age. There are some rough spots but it is fully intact and very heavy duty.
I had to crank up the old console to play this as it is the only turntable I have that has 78 speed. There were no skips to be heard. Of course, these 78s never sounded as good as LPs.
I wash all records before playing or selling. All are stored in a poly bag inside the paper sleeve to keep them dust free.
