Description

Red Boyd "Red's Ride" Don Hill "Perfidia" Blues & Rhythm 7006 I rarely use the word "rare" because, in my opinion, there should only be ten copies or less of a rare record. This 45 might just qualify. This record (45 or 78) was not listed in the Blues & Rhythm label discography until a collector found a 78 copy in the 1970's. No 45 has been offered for sale on Ebay, as far as I can find. ....... This copy is a strong VG. "Red's Ride" starts out with a little surface noise and get a little noisier with few more light to medium scratches towards the end but it's still a long way from your average VG record. The sound is strong with very little evidence of wear. The label was difficult to photograph because of the shine. (It was photographed in the harsh sun and the scratches look worse than they are.) The label is not quite as good as the photograph, except the ring wear on the left side of the actual label is considerably less pronounced than shown in the photo. The lettering is strong except where the ring wear is, which is not bad. The words "Red's Ride" is almost as strong as new. The words below it are faded some. "Blues & Rhythm" is pretty darn strong except where the ring wear goes through but it still looks good. If you turn the record to an angle, you can see where somebody has scribbled on the bottom half of the label. There is no ink or pencil on the label, just an indentation that is not deep. It is almost unnoticable when you look at the label straight on. Believe me, the label is really nice to look at. ...... The other side ("Perfidia) sounds almost VG+ but not quite. The label is more uniformly faded, about half faded (maybe not that much). This is a decent copy of a very scarce 45, at least. I would appreciate your purchase but if it does not sell at this price, I am going to keep it as a dynamite trader. .................... I have been selling records for 35 years.
