The Variety Label: "The Spice of Music"
​The Variety label was a short-lived but highly regarded subsidiary of the American Record Corporation (ARC), operating during the mid-1930s. It is noted by historians for its high-quality jazz and dance band recordings.

​Recording Date: The tracks were recorded on December 18, 1936, in Hollywood, California.
​Orchestra Members: The session is historically significant for its personnel, which included Glenn Miller on trombone. Other notable musicians included Harry James, Charlie Spivak, and Shorty Sherock on trumpets, Irving Fazola on clarinet, and Freddie Slack on piano.
