Bennie Green "Bennie Green Back On The Scene" Original Vinyl LP, Blue Note BLP-1587

Up for auction is an original mono copy of Bennie Green's "Bennie Green Back On The Scene" vinyl LP from Blue Note. This original pressing from 1958 shows the stamped RVG & ear mark on the run-off on both sids and bears the 47 West 63rd St. NY address, and of course has the deep groove on the lable - all the indications of an original Blue Note pressing.

This album is in VG+ condition with the vinyl appearing very nice with a good lustre and showing only a few minor scuff marks with some very minor audible surface noise which is neither distracting, consistent, nor overpowering the actual music. We wanted to give you an idea of the sound quality, so we made a recording of the entire album using low end digital recording equipment and the files were not cleaned up or filtered in any way. We are aware of the variables involved when recording vinyl, but this straight recording gives an accurate representation of the surface noise. All tracks can be heard here for reference before bidding:

The cover, despite displaying very nice, has 75% of the paper covering the spine cracked (but not split - record edge does not show through). The top and bottom edges are very secure and almost completely crack free. The front surface has a nice lustre and appears unfaded. There are a couple spots on the back which look like at one time had a damp piece of paper against it and then peeled off leaving a thin layer behind. This layer is thin enough that the text beneath is perfectly legible. In spite of this flaw, the cover remains in very solid condition.
