-Bennie Green-Blue Note LP-

 Soul Stirrin'

-RVG-Earmark-DG-

Up for your Consideration is this 1958 Used 33-1/3 LP Jazz Album by “Bennie Green” titled “Soul Stirrin’”…Originally released in 1958 on Blue Note Records …with a product number of BLP1599… LP Record: is in VG++ Condition the vinyl looks pretty good still has lots of luster…But under the spot light you can see that both Sides have several surface marks…NO scratches… the marks aren’t noticeable when being played…No snap, crackle or pops…sound quality is superb….Labels: Both sides are in EX- Condition they are of course blue and white color is nice and bright not faded or washed out...there is a couple of places on both sides where some paper has rubbed off from playing... both sides have the Deep Groove (an indent in the label about 1/2-inch from the edge of the label, which on SOME labels is associated with very early or first pressings) and that is where most of the issues are..both sides say "Blue Note Records  • 47 West 63rd  NYC"… NO Inc or R… “RVG” and the Ear Mark (symbol of an ear) are inscribed in the run off grooves (or Dead Wax) on both sides…. Album Cover: is in EX+ Condition, the front looks nice and clean no scuffs or rub marks, just the edge at the opening is peeling a bit...but it shines like a new penny…no other issues…the back is nice and clean there are 3 little stains at the top left hand side…no other issues…Back cover reads at the bottom "47 West 63rd St. New York 23 ".... Over all what I see is a Wonderful Used Jazz 33RPM Album that is in EX-Condition … I have set up a rating chart below... I inspect everything under bright spot light and state what I see, plus I have the album played for sound quality...Condition is a very subjective thing and is up to each individual’s interpretation... Please look at all of the pictures since they are a part of the description also... All of my LP’s come with a clear plastic protective sleeve and are mailed out in a standard Album Mailing Box that holds up to 3-4 Albums…I love to combine to save you money on shipping…if you are interested in this Great Jazz LP please be sure to bid early to beat out the last minute snipers…thank you for looking and good luck on your bidding…<><

Bit of History

Soul Stirrin' is an invigorating, exciting date from trombonist Bennie Green, showcasing his wide range of skills. His tone is alternately boisterous and reflective — the juxtaposition of the wildly swinging "We Wanna Cook" (complete with shouted vocals) and the gentle "That's All" is startling, demonstrating that Green can vary his robust sound according to the occasion. Green's fluid trombone is at the center stage throughout most of Soul Stirrin', but he also steps aside to shine some light on his extraordinary support group — saxophonists Gene Ammons and Billy Root, pianist Sonny Clark, bassist Ike Isaacs and drummer Elvin Jones. Each musician plays with soul and passion, both on the laidback blues and mambos and the rollicking swing numbers. It's a thoroughly enjoyable record and one that is a good introduction to Green's wonderful, friendly style.
