Description

Here is a rare and sought after classic audiophile 2-LP set from 1982 Reference Recordings (RR-11):  "Berlioz: Symphonie Fantastique".  Featuring Varujan Kojian conducting The Utah Symphony Orchestra.  This particular version of Symphonie Fantastique is considered by many to be one of the most spectacular and superb recordings of a full symphony orchestra.  A Professor Keith Johnson Pure Analogue Recording.  45 rpm.
In order to transfer to disc - intact - the awesome dynamic range and low frequency impact of the Keith Johnson master tape, Reference Recordings (RR) chose to issue the "Symphonie Fantastique" at 45 rpm on three disc sides.  And, rather than leave the fourth side blank, RR offers on Side 4 a bonus in the form of an extra copy of Side 3, which audio enthusiasts will play most often.  When Sides 3 and 4 are first auditioned, RR urges that the volume be kept low until the maximum undistorted playback level has been determined.  Reference Recordings cannot be held responsible for any damage caused by overdriven amplifiers or speaker elements.
The 2-disc set is well preserved and in very good condition.  The vinyl has a nice gloss and the LP has seen low play.  The gatefold album cover is in very good condition and the internal disc sleeves are in excellent condition.
