Description

An extremely rare promotional only box set put together by Mercury records in 1983 to promote the issue of the Crossing Lp by Big Country.  Consists of a hinged black cardboard box containing:-
  1. Album Sales Notes;
  2. Group Biography;
  3. A selection of press coverage on the group;
  4. A copy of the Big Country fan magazine (iss 3);
  5. Details of display activity to promote the album;
  6. Tour Details;
  7. Album Sleeve Proof (this is different to the finished artwork on the rear of the LP (see photo);
  8. In A Big Country 12" single;
  9. White label promo 12" of two rough mixes from the album;
  10. Copies of the red and blue album sleeves

A cassette is also listed on the contents sheet, but is not included here.  This is essentially the same promo box set that Grant Edwards Management sold here on Ebay recently, BUT UNLIKE THAT COPY THIS ONE INCLUDES THE UNIQUE ALBUM PROOF SLEEVE AND WHITE LABEL 12".  The 12" is stamped with 'COUNT 99' in the run out grooves and contains the tracks 'Chance' and 'Inwards'.  All items in excellent condition, although the box itself does have some minor wear (as you would expect).  A rare chance to get a piece of Big Country history.  Note - I'm a huge Big Country fan myself and this has been in my own collection for many years.  Unfortunately I'm having to sell this for financial reasons, but I'd like it to go to a good home - someone who will really appreciate it.
