Description
For sale is this wonderful vintage vinyl LP of BILL EVANS - CONVERSATIONS WITH MYSELF on the Verve label 1963. This pristine copy is the UK 1st Pressing of this iconic Jazz record. It features a laminated front cover, unlaminated reverse with three flip-backs, black labels and a nice weighty disc (158g). The catalogue number is VLP 9054. The matrix numbers refer intriguingly to the U.S. catalogue numbers (possibly pressed from the original lacquers) and are as follows:
Side One - V 8526 A-1N Side Two - V 8526 B-1N
Condition*: The sleeve is graded VG+. The laminated surface is clean with light wear and no evidence of fading. There is a faint impression of the disc when turned to the light. There is slight creasing to the bottom L/H corner. There is very little wear to the edges and spine. The top L/H corner has slight bruising and wear that is more evident on the reverse. The unlaminated back has light signs of handling. The text is bold and unrubbed. The bottom R/H has evidence of a knock. The top L/H corner has some loss to the top flip-back (pictured). Otherwise very good. Overall a pretty decent sleeve worth a VG+ grading.
The Disc is graded Excellent (EX). The surfaces are glossy and black. Under harsh light only a few very light marks are visible. The labels are immaculate. The record has been played through from start to finish and plays faultlessly with only very low occasional crackle. Overall a really beautiful sounding copy of this classic Bill Evans first pressing.

I can only give an honest appraisal based on careful visual inspection and thorough play testing. I do try to describe and photograph where possible all significant faults and I certainly won't intentionally hide anything. Please read the description carefully, look at the pictures and make your own mind up. The grading scale I have used goes from G to NM with VG+ as par. In other words: Good (G), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Excellent (EX) and Near Mint (NM). Anything better than that would be Mint and would be listed as new. Anything worse than Good I probably wouldn't be selling.
