Description

White label with blue Riverside banner, black text; Bill Grauer Productions. Deep groove, mono, original. 12 tracks record in NYC in 1956. 9 tracks includes Evans, piano; Teddy Kotick, bass; Paul Motian, drums. 3 tracks are unaccompanied solos. Included are 4 Evans' originals. This is one of Evans most brilliant recorded performances. Very rare original.

Cover: VG or Better 1 1/2" split on the top edge at the insert edge. A small amount of corner wear. Some wear and small tears along the spine. Heavy cardboard jacket. Light aging on the back cover.

Record: VG+ to VG++ Visually shows no wear. There are some discoloration markings on the vinyl which are the result of the manufacturing process and do not affect the sound. There are 2 or 3 small, very light surface rub marks. These, also, do not affect the sound. There are some clicks and pops. A very few repeat for 2 or 3 revolutions. Also, some very light, short passages of groove noise. All the noise describes are infrequent and light and affect a relatively small part of the record. Most of the record plays with no surface noise. This is an early Riverside 12" pressing and some of the noise described could be attributed this early pressing quality. Moderately heavy vinyl pressing. Overall fine quality. Audibly checked.
