-Mini bio: Born in 1934 in Waterville, Maine, Bill Flagg recorded two incredible rockabilly numbers on the Tetra label with Go Cat, Go in 1956 and "Guitar Rock" in 1957 . When he made his start at the age of 17, he played with the likes of Jody Gibson, Eddie Reed, John Sligar and Frank Kennedy. In 1954, Bill Flagg and John Sligar combined what was then referred to as "hillbilly music "with a new beat called rock & roll and called it "rockbilly. This new music gained such popularity, that New York based record label "Tetra Records" offered Flagg a recording contract. In 1956, Flagg, accompanied by Cat Gibson and Ted Barton recorded the first "rockbilly" record; Go Cat, Go. At that time Flagg was the only one calling his music rockbilly (later changed to rockabilly). Bill Haley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and the other rock stars of the time were calling their music "rock & roll" and Elvis Presley was called the "king of rock & roll". Flagg was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 2000. He still performs and records today in the central Maine area as "Hobo Bill & The Last Ride".  -Go Cat, Go, co-written by Bill Flagg is considered to be the first record released as a rockabilly record and is a smokin' rocker with great vocals from Flagg who sings: "Come on baby let's rock & roll and then she hollers go cat, go", with two hot guitar breaks, Go Cat, Go combines the best elements of hillbilly music with rock & roll and is extremely rare today, especially in mint minus condtion on a Canadian original first pressing.

-A Good Woman's Leaving co-written by Flagg is a mid-tempo rockabilly with three guitar solos, fine vocals from Flagg, hot drums and bass.

Record grading:

(M) Mint: We don't use this grade as no record is perfect, even SS records can have tiny flaws.

(SS) Still sealed: Still sealed in the factory shrink wrap.

(M-) Mint minus: A nearly perfect record. The record will show no obvious signs of wear. Original finish intact. Picture sleeves should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling.

(VG+) Very good plus: The record will show some signs that it was played or otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or light scratches. Picture sleeves may have some slight ring wear, lightly turned up corners, or a small seam split.

(VG) Very good: Many of the defects found in a VG+ record or sleeve will be more pronounced in a VG record or picture sleeve. Groove wear may be noticeable, the record may have light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound, but the foreign noises will be less prominent than the music. Picture sleeves may have quite prominent ring wear. Creases, folds, seam splits and tears will be more obvious and may appear on all three sides, and there may be writing as well.

(VG-) Very good minus: Foreign noises may be about as prominent as the music. The record still plays through without skipping. The picture sleeve will have more significant seam splits, perhaps to the point where they were taped closed, and highly obvious ring wear and heavier writing. Can serve as a filler until a better one comes along.

(G) Good: We seldom offer a good record for sale unless it is particularily rare for the following reasons: Foreign noises are louder than the recorded music and listening can be distracted by the noise. May or may not play through without skipping, but should be so noted. Picture sleeves are so badly seam split that they may not be able to contain the record within.Tears, folds, writing and ring wear may be overwheming.
