Description
This listing is for a rare vinyl LP of the self-titled album by Bill Plummer And The Cosmic Brotherhood.
It was released in 1968 on the Impulse! and ABC Records with catalog # AS-9164.
This is an original US stereo first pressing of the LP.
Already an accomplished jazz bassist at the time of the album's release, playing with the likes of Miles Davis, Bill Plummer turned heads with this LP. The heavy Eastern and psychedelic influences challenged contemporary ideas about jazz.
Record Condition:
Minor to moderate visible surface wear in the way of just a few very light scratches & scuffs.
Surface noise is present at times, but usually minimal.
Clean center labels.
There's also some light dust/dirt and a few finger print smudges, so a thorough cleaning would remove that and probably brighten the sound even more.
Industry Grade: Very High End VG (or perhaps a low end VG+).
Jacket Condition:
Moderate shelf wear on edges, spine, & corners, as well as a few visible scratch marks on the glossy cover.
No real visible ring wear.
Some bubbling on the laminate of the back cover.
Small drill hole in bottom right corner.
Some light spots of discoloration on the inside of the gatefold cover.
No seam splits.
Visible wear on the interior seam on the inside of the gatefold cover (see photo).
Inner Sleeve: Original Impulse branded paper inner sleeve is included, which does show signs of wear and has some seam splits.
Industry Grade: Higher End VG (though some might say it's a low end VG+).
Stored in a smoke free home, out of any direct sunlight, and away from any extreme temperature changes.
