BLACK GOSPEL MUSIC AUCTION

ARTIST NAME: The Straight Street Gospel Group

TITLE: All Day And All Night

LABEL: Quick Recording Studio Lizella, Georgia.<PRIVATE PRESSING NO LABEL>

LABEL #: 42506

COVER: This Privately Pressed LP was not released with a cover <NO DATES>

RECORD: VG-/VG. The condition of this RARE piece ranges from VG- to a strong VG in spots. The A side  is the roughest with the first 3 songs containing several skips. Other songs on the A side have pops and a few skips. The B side is the best side condition wise. It plays well with some background noise. You can hear 4 song clips from the actual LP below. This is one of the best LPs I have heard in years!! I didn't know an LP existed on this group.

This is an EXTREMELY collectible record by a newly "discovered" group in the Gospel/Blues guitar circuit. It was thought to have been recorded in the mid-1970s but nobody knows for sure. The group sings guitar driven 1920s style Pentecostal gospel in the style of Rev. Charlie Jackson and Utah Smith. This is throat bustin' wailing guitar gospel at its best!! This group came to collectors attention last year (2007) with the release of Mississippi Records compilation of rarities called "Life Is A Problem". It was thought that only two 45s existed on The Straight Street Gospel Group. This auction presents the group's RARE Full Length 10 song LP featuring shouting Pentecostal songs by Rev. Milton Phelps & Evangelist Hattie Finney.

Quote: "This is the greatest rare gospel find since Rev. Charlie Jackson" (Kevin Nutt Casequarter Records)
