DESCRIPTION: Black Sabbath LP- 1st Self titled. Complete early UK presing of this classic Sabbath LP. Gatefold sleeve. Spaceship labels. Dunbar credit for "Warning". 1Y1 420 1321 / 2Y2 420 1213 Matrix. Black inside to gatefold with misspelt ossie, smaller print with composers. Original plain white poly lined inner. LABEL AND CATALOGUE NUMBER: VERTIGO VO6 847 903 VTY YEAR OF RELEASE: 1970 COUNTRY OF RELEASE: UK CONDITION: (VINYL/COVER): VG+/VG+. Vinyl is very clean with a decent sheen and some light hairlines. Played majority of this today on my Pro-ject Deck at a decent volume. Sits flat on the turntable. This generally sounds at least Excellent . Music is clear and loud with great seperation and power. There is a light surface line across "Black Sabbath" and it causes a repetetive soft tick through the quiet parts of most of the track. There is no crackle or surface sound in the passages I have listened to. Its one of the cleanest sounding copies I have had. Without the the few light hairlines this would be a better than EX sounding LP. "The Wizard" reminds me why i love Ozzy. "NIB" a song from my youth, all is good!! On side Two "Sleeping Village" and "Warning " sound great, clear and loud and finish the Lp off in great style. No sign of the usual surface noise on these 2 tracks. Original cover is firm and square and retains very nice shape. Has only light edgewear (bottom edge possibly a touch more than light), light cornerwear and light creasing. Nice shape to spine. Very clean labels, no writing or rips!! Side one has some spindle wear. Inside of gatefold is nice and clean again with no writing or sticker tears. 1cm fine tear to rear opening edge is all that prevents EX grade for cover. No writing, stickers or sticker tears. This was my own copy until a recent upgrade and it was a great companion for many years!!. Very Low start price for a very respectable, very early UK pressing of one of the best Lps ever. Grading system: I use UK’s “Record Collector” Grading system. I DO PLAY EVERY RECORD I LIST NOW even though its often just quite briefly. Please bear in mind you may get a touch of surface sound, even if its just on intros and between the tracks on 30-40 year old vinyl records!! :: MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface mark or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound has noticably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding,scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc. I will at times use a + or - to indicate when a record falls between the grades. I REMOVE ALL VINYL FROM SLEEVES PRIOR TO POSTING. RECORDS ARE SENT IN BEST QUALITY MAILERS WITH 2 STIFFENERS.
