Here I have for sale the prize album in my collection Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath. Original 1970 1st pressing on the Vertigo label VO6 847 903 VTY.

Please be aware this is very much a collectors item

Matrix is side 1 VO6 1Y * 1 420. Side 2 VO6 2Y * 1 420

Produced by Roger Bain of Tuesday Productions, for Tony Hall Enterprises.

First issue released on the ''swirl'' Vertigo label with the wording ''Vertigo'' below the spindle hole and 'A PHILIPS RECORD PRODUCT' text. Comes in a gatefold cover and with a ''swirl'' inner bag. See photos

Cover is in EX+ condition I have tried to highlight some markings. Price paid over 40 years ago written on inside of cover, hidden and not visible unless looked for.

Spine is EX+ condition

Vinyl is in VG++ condition and does show some markings and minor quiet ticking for only a few seconds in a few places.

The first studio album by Black Sabbath. The album was recorded in one 8 hour session. The original European version of the record featured the pre-album single "Evil Woman" as the first track on the B-side while the North American version featured the song "Wicked World" (the B-side to the "Evil Woman" single) as the lead track on the second side of the record. Some current CD versions of the album now feature both tracks. This is the European version

Inner Sleeve
Vertigo inner sleeve reports: 'MADE IN ENGLAND British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 - PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS - TO AVOID SUFFOCATION KEEP THOS BAG AWAY FROM BABIES AND CHILDREN'

Please see all photos

I have played the album and apart from issue highlighted the sound is fantastic you will not be disappointed.

If you are not happy with sound or grading description I offer a refund. Any questions welcome.

UK BIDDING ONLY

Vinyl Grade

MINT (M): Perfect: This record looks like it has just left the manufacturer, with NO flaws whatsoever. It looks as though it had never been handled. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains.

NEAR MINT (NM): This record appears virtually flawless, very minor scuffs and very little else can appear on the vinyl. It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw is very hard to see.

EXCELLENT (EX): Minor scuffs which are only slightly visible. There may be more than a few scuffs. It should play without any noise over the flaw.

VERY GOOD (VG): Record shows wear, surface scuffs. The vinyl still has great luster, but the flaws will be noticeable to the naked eye. The flaws may cause some surface noise.

Sleeve Grade

MINT (M): No stickers, address labels, writing on the covers or labels. No tears or seam splits. No wear to the cover. Age of the record has nothing to do with it.

NEAR MINT (NM): The cover looks as close to perfect with only minor signs of wear and/or age.

EXCELLENT (EX): Artwork is still as close to perfect as can be. Some impression to the cover (minor outer ring wear), but no ink wear! Some slight creases to the corners, but not wrinkled and obtrusive to the eye.

VERY GOOD (VG): The artwork looks clean with slightly more aging. The back of the cover usually gives away the age of the cover. Flat white paper will be somewhat yellow, yet no stains or mildew from water damage. Some minor wear to the seams or spine, but no tears or holes popping through.
