Description
A true 1st pressing of SBS on the UK WWA label from 1973. Matrix 1/1. The WWA logo is in SILVER not white. So, make no mistake about it THIS is the REAL DEAL - there is no earlier copy than this one! The LP comes housed in an original 1st issue cover. IMPORTANTLY - there is NO printers credit on the rear and the image in the interior IS NOT cropped [i.e. there is no border]. Also present is that hard to find original incredibly fragile inner sleeve. So, this is a genuine 1st pressing of SBS and is 100% complete. Nice!
Vinyl (Ex+) Wowzers this really is one perfectly preserved record. Lovely shiny surfaces and has clearly seen very light use indeed. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet. The audio comes across with excellent clarity and minimal interference. We only detected a couple of crackles literally in a couple of places. The audio playback is really a treat to behold and a clear testament as to why it is always best to insist on the earliest original pressings.
Cover (VG+) Has been well cared for and has survived the years far better than most other examples. That fussy black front is predominantly intact with just some light wear at the foot. The rear also often succumbs to ageing, but this one has survived with only light ageing in the corners. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and the spine is totally intact. That all important interior is in superb condition.
Inner (Ex) A near miracle to find this original inner in this condition. They were so so fragile that only in the very occasional example do they turn up in this perfectly preserved condition. No marks and no rips, barely any ageing either.
The Lp will come housed in an Exstatic inner sleeve.
