Description
BLACK SABBATH On original First release VERTIGO SWIRL label!!!
The is the debut album from Black Sabbath - back when Ozzy was Ossie! FIRST PRESS on original VERTIGO SWIRL label Also, Black inside gatefold with song listings inside the inverted cross!!!
VERY RARE!!!!
Much more rare to find this album in first release and in excellent condition, when this album was released Sabbath were not well known so not many of these were produced unlike the later records.
The Gatefold Cover is EXCELLENT - NEAR MINT!!!! Front and Back cover are nr Mint, only a tiny tiny mark on the very top right corner on the back from where a small sticker has been removed in the past, only lifted the tiniest amount of print, very hard to spot!
The Spin is wide, squared and has just a very thin line down the centre from opening. Top edge nr mint Bottom edge excellent, only very light scuff from shelf life. Corners only very light wear Opening edge is excellent
Inside, is nr mint! the very first release had the track listings, credits etc inside the inverted cross. Still has the original VERTIGO SWIRL inner sleave!!! itself in excellent condition
The Vinyl - Side A - Excellent - nr mint Side B - Excellent - just a couple of very light marks that do not effect playback. Has a small signature on the inner label on this side as pictured.
The MATRIX stamps are SIDE A - V06 1Y * 1 420 139 SIDE B - V06 2Y * 1 420 19 19
on the label it says VO6 847 903 VTY and 847 903 2Y 1970
The only other thing to note is on the inside of the actual cover (where the record goes in the pocket - not inside the gatefold!) it has written "this belongs to me. bought Jan 1975 Newcastle"! You can only see this when you open the sleeve to put the record in!
This was part of a collection Im selling on, many are classics and have been stored for many years in excellent condition. Quite a few have this written on the inside of the record pocket, as far as I know, the whole collection was purchased from another collector back in 75, then put into storage. We are now breaking it down and selling on! Lots of rare and classic first press albums will be listed over the next week...
Postage is a little higher on this record as it will be sent very well packed and insured. Only shipping to UK and EU If you are a previous customer from elsewhere, please contact and I can add you to the allowed bidders. Had too many postage scams from eastern Europe and Russia / Croatia recently to sell there anymore.
Lots more records on auction at the moment, can combine postage.
Postage - UK - 5.00 recorded / insured. EU - £15 recorded / insured. Outside EU - contact before bidding.
If you dont live in the UK or EU and want to bid, you must contact me first to be 'unblocked'. Too many postal scams from Russia and other countries at the moment...

On 29-Sep-13 at 18:33:45 BST, seller added the following information:
Showed this to a collector since listing on ebay and he commented that the photos on the listing really do not do the record justice!
Thought this was worth adding :-)price rating
