AUDIO

At least an EXCELLENT  aural delivery and considerably better in many parts . Plays mostly excellent, save for the first track on  side 1, where there is an audible scratch during the pattering of the raindrops and there are repeat ticks for 30 secs. Once the music/vocals begin there is no looking back ! Awesome tones. Deep bass riffs are tremendous and reverberate in sensational style, through these wider vertigo grooves !!Channels are quite clearly defined with very little surface disturbance. Sensational vocals from Ozzie and doubt whether one can find a much better delivery. The extra loud cut, from these early first UK pressings, is phenomenal and shadows later repressings considerably. Distant static is remotely detected during the quieter parts/between tracks, but make no mistake, this is a “must have” vinyl for all serious hard rock fanatics and Sabbath followers.

Absolutely wonderful tones! Vertigo channels are renowned for their much wider grooves to accommodate the pounding percussion beats and the roar of the electric guitars. These very first pressings are highly sought after, as their extra loud cut engineering transmits the most effective aural deliveries. Not many about at all, as only a very limited number were produced. Tones rise above any surface disturbance to convey a phenomenal sound. Pretty sensational and will not disappoint. Pulsating tones vibrate with deep resonance to convey an awesome hard rock delivery.

Vinyl

Thick, heavy weight vertigo pressing .  Not heavily played at all. Super sheen to the vinyl . Gives a buzz when held . Excellent visual . Under ordinary light, two surface marks and two scratches 1st track side A. Against a stronger halogen, some wispy hairlines are visible but no ugly blemishes .A glorious sheen with a deep gloss and a heavy feel. A superb exhibit and will stand proud in any collection.

Sleeve

Genuine FIRST issue sleeve with the stereo recording credits, which was printed in error and later changed to read vertigo recording credits . Inverted silver crucifix, with black inner faces, displaying light  fading/rubbing toward edges . Centrefold-Top left corner has a moderate black sticker blemish. May be removable, but have not attempted to do so .

Unlaminated , extremely fragile gatefold ,with lower edge wear, top edge minimal rubs.  Spine only has light wear ,not too noticeable. Title is clearly visible.

Misspelling of Osborne’s name .Corner scuffs light. No sticker damage on front face .Reverse face has some ring wear , a quarter of a revolution which is prominent. First and earliest issue sleeve in very good condition as per RRPG grading system . Designed and photographed by Keef . Solid feel and a “very good” example of this very rare first issue gatefold . Has a solid feel. Coloration remains vivid and strong on outer faces. Better than many !

Labels

Black and white swirl in excellent condition with that mesmeric , psychedelic effect. No discoloration  and a pleasure to view. Spider lines visible . NO rips nor tears, no graffiti, no mottling nor peeling. Mega rare Phillips Record credits confirming the very first vintage press of this astronomical release . Later labels do not bear this text, please note. Excellent examples of one of the most difficult to locate label .

A very scarce exhibit indeed and one of the most collectable and highly desirable hard rock psyches . Cautiously graded! Not to be missed! The winning bidder will be absolutely delighted …..
