Description

THE ONLY TIME VERTIGO INVERTED THE LABEL.....WHITE WRITING ON A BLACK LABEL.....VERY VERY RARE

This is a very early first pressing. The vinyl is in excellent condition and has been play tested.

This item came from a private collection. The owner said he only played most of his records once and then put them away.

The cover features the raised text which again proves this is an early first pressing.

The writing and track listing on side b is in silver and side A featured the full Vertigo Swirl.

See results below for the dead wax scan.

The runout information reveals the following authentication details:Matrix & Stamper Breakdown6360050: The unique product catalog code allocated strictly to the 1971 Vertigo UK pressings of Master of Reality.1Y // 1 ▽ 420: This stamped code confirms it was mastered and pressed by Phonodisc Ltd. in the UK. The 1Y designates Side A, and the // 1 shows it was cut from the very first master tape lacquer.1 and 7: The separate numbers stamped further down represent the mother number (1) and the specific stamper number (7). These exceptionally low single-digit counts indicate it was stamped at the absolute beginning of the record's production run.

The Label: Side A must feature the large, iconic black-and-white Vertigo "swirl" logo covering the entire face. Side B must have a small swirl logo at the top with a black background and silver text detailing the song tracks. The Sleeve: The album should be housed in a thick, leaf-folding laminated "box-type" sleeve that slides open from both the top and bottom. The text on the front cover reading Black Sabbath and Master of Reality must be physically embossed (raised to the touch).
