Description

An original 1st press of MOR on the UK Vertigo label from Summer 1971. Matrix 1/1 - 1st cut. The vinyl comes housed in an original embossed lettering Box cover. We also have the original Vertigo swirl inner sleeve too. Note that the inner sleeve is date coded to [0671] - that decodes to June 1971..the month before 1st release. NO POSTER -sorry! We will ship the LP inside a MOFI inner sleeve for maximum protection.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and remains in remarkable condition. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks either side, and a superficial [non-feelable] trail on side 2. Nothing that will impinge on the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in two tracks. A beautiful player for the most part - more than capable of dealing with the out and out attack of Sabbath! Love it! By and large a great player. It just exhibits, as is typical, a bit of background in the two acoustic tracks. ORCHID & SOLITUDE. In fact, both of these tracks play back well - just not clean. But then I'd argue these tracks are very very hard to find playing properly clean. Overall a great rendition which leaves the listener wanting more.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and looking better than many original examples. On the front there's a couple of light stress creases at the edges - but otherwise in terrific condition. Ditto the rear - just one slight crease...very impressive. The overall box shape has flattened a bit as they tend to on nearly all copies. This means the spines are no longer at perfect right angles....more like 45 degrees [this is almost impossible to avoid]. The spine with the text on is in excellent order - all perfectly legible and with little wear. The other spine looks fine but with a couple of spots of wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) The real deal...Aged a little...but no side splits.
