6360 050 Matrix 1Y//1    Stampers 1   1     9

                             2Y//1    Stampers 1    1     4

Vertigo Swirl very 1st UK pressing!  LOOK at those VERY early stampers !!!

Will find difficult to locate a better example of a UK 1st press than this, so please look no further ! A complete package and a mega discovery .A stunning original 1971 first issue release.

Earliest laminated boxed sleeve in sensational condition  and included the most impressive full colour ,  rare poster of this magnificent rock group of the seventies !Poster has been hung on a wall by the keenest of followers . Several pin holes in each corner, and see pic of this massive rarity. This massively scarce poster was ONLY issued with a handful of first pressings so massively rare and IMPOSSIBLE to locate !!Not much creasing and folds are neat.  The reverse has some age discoloration  and adds to the authenticity of this sensational exhibit ! Some of the pin holes have increased to larger holes ! 1 seam split ,lower section, 1cm but clean and not torn. Two triangular cuts 0.5 cm each, again not torn, and one larger hole, top mid section. Couple of whitish marks on surface of front face . Strangely enough, despite the damage mentioned, the thick card manufacture has preserved this exhibit extremely well. Measures 45cmx67cm and is assessed in good+/very good/- condition.

The vinyl is visually stunning with highly polished, glass like surfaces , very similar to mint vinyl . Virtually unmarked under ordinary light . Under a stronger halogen light, and a closer examination, shows two, ultra light ,sleeve removal marks/scuffs on one side/hairlines, where inner bag has brushed the vinyl surface. Nothing intrusive to the voyeur and a pleasure to view . I doubt whether one will come across a better exhibit .Would be very difficult to match . Nr Mint- visual against ordinary light.

Audio

A phenomenal hard rock delivery !! The aural delivery is sensational with the deepest of bass tones which thunder through the speakers in tremendous style. A truly excellent audio with very little to fault . Some distant static detected during the opening grooves side 2 ,and some, not all, of the quieter parts of the music, where the grooves have accumulated some dust, whilst remaining dormant over the past 38 years. This is quite common on vintage releases and should improve with play. These wider vertigo channels convey a sensational delivery and throw a shadow over later reissues!

The first issue , fully laminated boxed sleeve is in excellent  condition. Lamination reflects a glossy sheen with no creases in the laminate normally found towards the outer extremity. Top and lower folds of box are normally found ripped or damaged in some way but these are crisp with little to fault. Just perhaps a little flaking of the lamination on lower edge, but hardly noticeable .Beautiful boxed variant and a pleasure to view. The lamination is almost perfect on reverse face ,with hardly any laminate lifts which is truly remarkable as the majority are found lifting and peeling. The laminate is only lifting toward the spine, along left lateral edge ,front face.  No rips, nor tears !An excellent example of the  “boxed sleeve” variant and in remarkable condition  .

Vertigo swirl label format indicating the very first issue of this sensational Sabbath release . ONE ultra faint spindle trace observed on side A ,with no mottling, rips nor tears. No spindle wear at all. No discoloration on the magnificent large swirl label and are superb examples of this very famous label format. Near mint- examples ! Appears to have been very lightly played indeed.

Vertigo swirl inner sleeve is a genuine original with inverted black/white inner sleeve and flip backs on reverse. Excellent/- condition . No seam splits just a slight ageing discoloration only, couple of nicks on central edge in total, one on either side. One clean 2cm seam split to one of the top lateral edges which is not visible unless you open out to view.

Of True investment quality.

One of the very best examples of this Sabbath classic ,boasting one of the most highly sought after coloured posters of the seventies era, becoming very difficult to track down, normally found missing and so hard to locate these days. Original first swirl inner bag with a stunning, highly polished ,NR MINT vinyl, with an excellent aural delivery, making this album presentation an absolute “MUST HAVE” for the serious collector .
