Description
This LP was signed by Tony Iommi when I interviewed him in NYC during the promotion cycle for his self-titled solo album. At the time, I was working with a national radio syndicate later bought by Premiere Radio Networks.
If memory serves me, I interviewed Tony at his hotel room around 57th Street in Midtown when I obtained this signature. I believe the hotel was called the Parker Meridien.
One important thing to note about this auction. This LP is nowhere near mint condition. It is a gatefold LP, and the part where you keep the record has become separated into two (though it is still attached) -- so the record would fall right through if you let it! The actual vinyl is heavily scuffed too.
To my mind, this item isn't being offered for its condition (obviously!) -- but rather for someone who wants to have it framed and hung on a wall -- splayed open, the way I've displayed it in the second picture. I've often thought of doing the same myself, but never got around to it!
I also have autographed copies of the 'Heaven and Hell' and 'Eternal Idol' LPs that I obtained at the end of our hourlong interview. Those are in substantially better shape than this one! Look for them on eBay in the coming days.
I'm selling all of these items and others from my personal collection. I worked as a music journalist in the city from 2000 - 2007. Please contact me if you want to see clips to verify that I was a published music journalist. (I no longer work in the music industry.)
Please check out my other auctions including rare and autographed memorabilia from Rob Halford, Queensryche, and others.
Thanks for looking!
