Description
Free Bonus Disc of the Paranoid CD-4 Quadraphonic Quadradisc on a 4.0 DTS CD for your home & car surround systems!
NOTE: The bonus disc is a 4.0 DTS compact disc that I made using an original copy of the listed quadraphonic CD-4 LP that you must purchase in order to get the bonus disc. In essence you are getting a free copy with the purchase of the artist's original work. If you already own an original copy of this title contact me about a duplication service.
If you are reading this you are no doubt a fan of surround music or you are probably interested in the idea of hearing music in surround. What I am offering here is a very good condition original copy of the listed quadraphonic CD-4 LP. In addition I am including a bonus compact disc of the listed title in the 4.0 DTS surround sound format and it requires a system capable of decoding the DTS format. This bonus disc is derived from the standard quadraphonic LP by using a fully restored, vintage, Sansui QRX-7001 (Quadraphonic) 4 Channel Receiver to get the front and rear surround channels. The quadraphonic analog channels are then digitally encoded onto a CD in the 4.0 DTS format and thus require a system capable of decoding DTS for proper playback. The bonus disc is also encoded with CD text that will scroll the album, artist, and song titles on the displays of CD text capable players.
If you have a CD player that is linked to your receiver with a fiber optic cable or a digital coax cable it will transfer the digital DTS signal to your digital receiver which must then be a DTS capable receiver in order to properly playback the disc. I use a 50 CD changer in this way that is full of DTS CD's so I can listen to a variety of discs through my surround sound home theater system with the push of a button. Otherwise a DVD or Blu-ray player with DTS capabilities would be required to transfer the signal to a DTS capable receiver.
If you are already knowledgeable of surround music whether it be in SQ, QS, CD-4, Q8, Quad Reel, DVD Audio, SACD, etc. then you know how frustrating it is trying to get new music to listen to on your surround system. You are no doubt also aware of the headache and cost of keeping a vintage system running smoothly. Hopefully this will give you a chance to relax and enjoy that vintage sound on a vast array of readily available systems, whether it be a DTS capable home theater or car audio system. On these discs I have captured the sound of the legendary Sansui QRX-7001 and QRX-9001 receivers for you to enjoy in 4.0 DTS on CD. Since these discs are derived from vintage analog equipment you can hear the warm hum of the analog equipment being used in between songs and the noise floor of the CD-4 LP during the quieter passages.
Also included in this package deal is a well used, but working quad 8-track tape of the Paranoid title. I have replaced the splice and loosened the windings to get it to play on my player. It does have crosstalk on the quieter passages and that is why I used the best of the two vinyl copies to make the bonus disc. I did not want to adjust my tape player heads to accomodate this tape because all my other tapes play fine.
I have included an extra copy of the Paranoid title that was my filler copy until I could find a better one. You could use it as a party copy or a copy to test used equipment (i.e. used stylus) on so as to not damage a good copy of something. It does play through without skipping on my system however it has some rough places on it.
And last but not least I have included a copy of the self titled Sabbath release on the 1st pressing, green label, vinyl. What makes this even more unique is the fact that on one side (see pictures) the logo on the label is inverted, something that I have never seen before.
If all this sounds foreign to you but you would still like to pursue the idea of hearing your music in quad, the best place that I know of to learn more is : www.quadraphonicquad.com
