Black Sabbath Paranoid on the Vertigo Swirl Label
Matrix numbers: 6360011 1Y//1 ? 420 12 12 / 6360011 2Y//1 ? 420 12 16
I believe this to be a first pressing from the matrix numbers. Side B has no divider between tracks 2 and 3 making them look like one long track. The sleeve is unlaminated but it lacks the ‘Management/Jim Simpson, Big Bear, Birmingham’ credit on the inside.
The heavy weight vinyl is glossy and black with only a few light marks. The labels are clean and bright and with minimal spindle marks. Grading by the Record Collectors grading system this is Excellent. I have played it though once and it plays beautifully with only occasional crackle heard in quieter sections.
The gatefold sleeve shows some wear particularly along the edges. Grades as Very Good.
The spiral inner sleeve is not torn but is slightly creased with some age browning.
I am starting this rare item low and there is no reserve.
Items will be packaged in purpose made cardboard mailers with stiffener. I will remove the disc from its sleeves to ensure that damage does not occur in transit.
Auction finishes Sunday. If payment is received in time I will post on Tuesday. Items that go for more money I send at improved services to make sure that the Post Office will insure their value. I will not pass on the greater cost to the winning bidder.
