Blind Faith Lp - VGC, NZ pressing. Sent with Australia Post Standard Service.
This is a 'Priceless Original Recordings' pressing from New Zealand. The inner sleeve advertises other records - one of which is a Jon & Vangelis album that I quite like that was released in 1981, so this pressing has be after that. I have had it in my collection probably since new - at least 30 years.
I am surprised that new versions with this cover are still being made available. The cover was 'out there' in 1968 when the record was initially released, but it was hippy days man. Given modern preoccupations with concerns about child abuse - the community mind has shifted since this record was first released - there is now almost no public space in which the production of nude/semi nude images of adolescents is acceptable. It seems somewhat surprising that the outrage industry and other stakeholders with legitimate concerns about adolescents having an undeveloped capacity to make fully informed judgements about how they are depicted, have not arced up about this cover. Perhaps they have. Fascinating to watch norms change over time. Whenever I put this record on the turntable, these thought always spring to mind. However, if I can sell it, then the burden becomes yours.
I would rate the vinyl as VG+ on the Goldmine rating scale. There are a few light scratches on each side, but I have just listened to the record with headphones on, and heard no pops or clicks, other than one modest click close to the end of side 2. I may have missed something - my hearing isn't what it was 50 years ago - however, I doubt it. The label is clean, and there are almost no spindle marks.
The cover is intact - no stickers, tears of stains. However, there is creasing around the borders of the cover, and a small crushed bit on the bottom left hand corner. There is a double sided lift out paper lyric sheet with a picture of the band. I'm not sure how to rate the cover - it would be at least VG. My Goldmine description doesn't cover creases, but you can see the worst of them in the first photo, so judge for yourself. Take away the creases, and the cover looks quite fresh.
Records are sent in a double layer of rigid cardboard, with the vinyl outside of the dust jacket to minimise the possibility of compression damage.
