Blind Willie Johnson Nine 78's 1927-1930
Up for your consideration is a rare collection of Blind Willie Johnson 78's. I have a total of 9 records on the Columbia record label. That is a total of 18 recordings of his so called 30 studio recordings with Columbia Records. I've read that these recordings were done over a 5 session recording period during the years of 1927-1930. The tracks are as follows: I'M GONNA RUN TO THE CITY OF REFUGE/JESUS IS COMING SOON........YOU'LL NEED SOMEBODY ON YOUR BOND/ BYE AND BYE I'M GOIN' TO SEE THE KING.......TAKE YOUR STAND/SWEETER AS THE YEARS ROLL BY..........EVERYBODY OUGHT TO TREAT A STRANGER RIGHT/GO WITH ME TO THAT LAND............CHURCH I'M FULLY SAVED TODAY/THE SOUL OF A MAN...........LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE ON ME/GOD DONT NEVER CHANGE.............TROUBLE WILL SOON BE OVER/THE RAIN DON'T FALL ON ME...........IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR JESUS/CAN'T NOBODY HIDE FROM GOD.........KEEP YOUR LAMP TRIMMED AND BURNING/LORD I JUST CAN'T KEEP FROM CRYING.
These records all came from the same estate sale. They could all use a professional cleaning. Some of the labels may be in better shape than others. There was a chip in one of the records as seen in the photo. Only on one side and appears that it would not affect play. Please email with any questions. These records are rare. They don't come around too often on ebay. I've seen a single 78 within the last 6 months bring about $235.00 dollars, and it too needed to be professionally cleaned.
