This is indeed a invaluable REAL copy of the authentic blink (182 added later) Flyswatter cassette tape. If you are looking at this auction then you are obviously a big enough fan of blink to understand the superb value of this item so I will only briefly describe what it actually is. These tapes were made in an amount not truly known, but have said to been around 50-100. Mark, Tom, and Scott of their young ages recorded these 8 songs on a recorder in a garage and homemade their paper covers with a madeup record label by them "fags in the wilderness." They handed these out for free in the beginning and most likely hold onto none themselves this very day! The recording is raw and old sounding, but this copy plays perfectly fine and sounds just as it did when I first got it!

I have spent the past 9-10 years collecting these masterpieces of my collection, getting my first 1 at a show in 94 with Less Than Jake. I still even have my ticket to that show! I have a lot of blink collectible stuff, way too much that I know what to do with now that I'm well into my 20's and trying to finish up a college degree. And so this is a time where I do need the money, but even better to make it easier on me in giving away parts of me like this, it's a time I feel I should let other people experience what I spent the last decade doing because I loved every minute of it. I'm still probably going to hold onto one since I could most likely never truly part with them all together. The second I came across was at a river fenix show in chicago from some kid selling lots of rare oop stuff at this table at a small church venue. Finally, in the late 90's my cousin gave me his tape he got from the same show in '94 with me because he suddenly changed genre's and totally turned on blink, which was all the better for my collection, but kind of sucky at the same time.

My point in this is.. every single one of these tapes has come to me on identical rca tapes and identical crappily made slightly blurry paper inserts with identical sounding songs. And so my assumption is at its best that I have most definitely been collecting the real thing. Otherwise someone made many copies in this form, shipped them about the world, and I have somehow obtained 3 of those from all seperate places.. which would literally break my heart as well as any idea of randomness in the world. I'm just presenting all the facts to everyone straight up so you KNOW everything I can tell you about this. But I'm just saying the coincidence is too great for them to all be fake and so I will sell them with my full belief in these tapes since I have been so proud to have them myself all these years. I wish there was a verification process or someone that knew exactly what these looked like the day mark, tom, and scott produced them so I wouldn't get so many questions about if it is real, but that's the honest problem is no one can honestly say they have a real copy. But with my entire situation and story as I have shared from collecting my first one years ago before they were even valuable, I can only assume with the absolute highest amount of probability and belief in myself that these are the real thing.

I've sold (now 3) already on ebay at pretty reasonable offers from people as compared to what they usually go for (I've only seen a few others sold, but they all went near or over $300), but only one person paid for one of mine before this last successful auction and so I've really only lost two of the 3 in all thus far. When dealing with amounts of money like us people are in these situations, I completely understand everyones hesitancy, and what I am telling everyone is.. if you are hesitant, maybe you shouldn't bid.. because I don't want someone not believing in the tape being real and then me never be able to get it back, because they still mean a great deal to me and I hope they will to you.
